Dear Parents & Students:
¡Hola! My name is Bliss Muniz and I will be your son’s/daughter’s Spanish teacher this year/semester. I’d like to take this opportunity to share a bit about myself with you.
This school year is my seventeenth year of teaching, and my fourteenth year at WCHS. Before coming to WCHS, I attended the University of Missouri at Columbia, where I graduated with a B.S. in Education. I then taught two years in St. Louis, MO. and one year in Normal, IL. I earned my master’s degree through Olivet Nazarene University, in May '07. My husband Jeff and I have three daughters, Mary Kate, Allee & Linsee.
Being a mother of three, I have learned so much and am still learning! Life is not at all like it used to be, nor will it ever be that way again. I am doing the best I can at handling all the demands of motherhood. Just as I am learning and giving my best, I hope to guide my students to do the same. My mission as a teacher is to help my students do the best they can in my class and in life. I will do all that I can to meet this goal, while I hope my students strive for it as well.
One of my philosophies for teaching is that positive experiences will surely happen if the cohesive team of teacher-student-parents works together for the good of the student. I will work with your son/daughter and you to achieve the best for your son/daughter. This will only be possible with your son’s/daughter’s and your cooperation and respect, of which I’ll return.
With the cohesive team working together, I believe we will have a successful and positive school year. Thanks to technology these days we have several ways to keep in touch. Please do not hesitate to contact me at school if ever a situation arises, or if you simply want to share some excitement.
Sincerely,
Bliss Muniz
